The Role:
The Director of Pharma Partnerships will be responsible for sourcing, developing and managing strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies. This role requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, excellent communication skills, a significant customer network and the ability to align partnership goals with our company’s mission.
The successful candidate will identify emerging partnership opportunities and help shape new program concepts that address needs for patients, healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical partners.
Most importantly, this role carries direct responsibility for originating and advancing pharmaceutical partnership opportunities that contribute to the company’s commercial growth and revenue objectives.
This role is open to candidates from New Jersey/Philadelphia area.
Salary: USD $100,000 – $170,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Development: Identify and engage potential pharmaceutical partners, fostering relationships that deliver value for patients, HCPs and pharma and align with the strategic goals of all stakeholders.
- Strategy Execution: Develop, implement and measure partnership strategies to drive growth and enhance value and mutual return on investment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (product, marketing, business development) to ensure alignment and successful execution of partnership initiatives.
- Negotiation: Facilitate negotiations to establish agreements and contracts with pharmaceutical partners.
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform partnership strategies.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess partnership success and report on outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting partnership updates and insights. Attend conferences, networking events and speaking engagements as required.
Commercial Outcomes: Meet and exceed commercial quotas and metrics tied to the successful creation and execution of the partnership strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in partnership management, business development, or sales within the pharmaceutical or digital health industry.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including market dynamics and regulatory considerations. Demonstrated sales and business development success.
- Proven track record of successful partnership development and negotiation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM and project management tools.
Skills:
- Strategic Business Development: Ability to identify high-value pharmaceutical prospects and map partnership opportunities to long-term corporate growth.
- Complex Contract Negotiation: Proven expertise in leading multi-layered negotiations for commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, and data-sharing contracts.
- Pharma Market Intelligence: Deep knowledge of the North American pharmaceutical landscape, including specialty drug markets, therapy area trends, and the competitor landscape.
- Regulatory & Compliance Literacy: Strong understanding of regulatory, MLR privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA/PIPEDA) affecting pharma partnerships.
- Data Analysis & KPI Management: Proficiency in synthesizing complex datasets to track partnership performance, inform forecasting, and measure ROI.
- Digital & CRM Proficiency: Advanced experience with Hubspot (or similar CRM), project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira), and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Executive Presence: Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, particularly when facilitating Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) or pitching to potential partners.
- Adaptability & Problem Solving: Resilience in navigating the rapidly changing digital health landscape and solving complex integration or compliance issues quickly.
- Project Leadership: The ability to independently manage a pipeline of 10–15 high-value accounts simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Quota accountability: The ability to constantly meet or exceed defined quota metrics such as partnership pipeline coverage, revenue contribution and the attainment of new logos and existing revenue expansion as a result of the partnership strategy
